A 47-year-old woman gave birth just one hour after finding out she was pregnant with her first child. Judy Brown, from Massachusetts had put the symptoms she was suffering down to the menopause.
She and her husband of 22 years, Jason, went to the hospital after she began to experience severe abdominal pain. Here she discovered that she was in labour, the baby was on its way. Judy gave birth to an 8-pound baby an hour later. “The nurse said it’s good news, you don’t have any blockages or anything – you’re pregnant and you’re going to have her now,” said Judy in an interview with ABC.
Her husband explained how they believed her sudden weight gain was due to her age. “It’s not like gaining weight – when you gain weight its usually flappy and soft, this was hard.”
The couple named the unexpected arrival Carolyn Rose after the couple’s two mothers.
