At least six people, including two children, were tragically killed in a gas blast at a five-storey apartment building in a central Russia.
Nine other people were injured in the explosion in Yaroslavl, which is 250km north-east of Moscow.
The gas blast, which happened this morning, destroyed a total of five apartments and damaged 20 others.
Building residents were evacuated following the blast – a total of about 130 people. It was unclear whether all residents had been accounted for or whether any were missing.
It is common for apartment buildings in Russia to be supplied with natural gas for cooking. The cause of the gas blast is still under investigation.
