RSA and Gardaí issues warning to motorists and pedestrians to take extra precautions whilst traveling during the dark evenings




With the clocks set to go back this weekend, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) and An Garda Síochána have issued a warning to motorist’s and pedestrians’ to make sure they wear the proper equipment so they can be clearly seen whilst out on the roads.

The RSA are urging road users to to wear high visibility clothing such as a high viz vest or a Sam Browne belt when walking, cycling or motorcycling.

They are also asking that other road users to make sure their lights on their bicycles’, motorcycle and car are working properly.

The warning comes after recent statistics’ found that six people have been killed and 33 people have been seriously injured during the October Bank Holiday Weekend in the past 5 years.
