The Peter McVerry Trust has opened two new homeless services today.
In a move that will actively help the capital’s homeless crisis, the Peter McVerry Trust, Dublin Region Homeless Executive and the Department of Housing, say the new accommodation comes following the closure of the extreme cold weather facility in a sports hall in St Catherine’s sports centre in Dublin 8.
In announcement made earlier today the Peter McVerry Trust said they hoped that the two new centres will cater to those who came to St Catherine’s last week during Storm Emma.
They also said that the new services setup will be much better equipped to help those in need as the temporary measures implemented last week were not adequate enough to run permanently, even though they proved successful during the storm.
