The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) has confirmed that it has launched an investigation into a road crash in Co Limerick which seen a 17-year-old boy killed and three others injured.
In announcement made on Tuesday the Gardai said the case had been referred to GSOC after it was revealed there was an interaction between the Gardai and the vehicle before the crash occurred.
The investigation comes after a teenager was tragically killed and three others were seriously injured when the car they were travelling in hit a ditch at Tubberyquinn, Ballyneety, at approximately 12am on Tuesday morning.
Gardaí say the three injured occupants have been since transferred to University Limerick Hospital.
It is believed one of the males remains in serious condition.
