The citizens of the Greek Island of Lesbos have stated that they are experiencing a living nightmare due to the massive influx of migrants coming across the Aegean from Turkey.

This has resulted in widespread destabilization.

Earlier this week the tension boiled over when the entirety of Island went on strike to protest and EU’s migration policy and riots broke out with police deploying tear gas and stun grenades in an attempt to control the desperate protestors.

Greek Islands are being forced to host tens of thousands of migrants and refugees despite massive economic problems of their own, due to the backlog in processing asylum applications that has been the result of the EU migration policy.

Over 15,000 migrants are being sheltered on the Island of Lesbos and this has collapsed the Island’s tourism industry as well as crippled public services and caused massive social and criminal issues.

The migrants and refugees are made of over 50 different nationalities and in the largest camp young, single men make up over 90% of the asylum seekers.
