Winter is currently in full swing in Ireland, as freezing temperatures and lashing rain blight the country.
Today, Tuesday, will see a wet front moving in from the west throughout the afternoon, with persistent and heavy rain forecast for later in the day. It will remain relatively mild, however, with temperatures reaching 11C at times.
It will become much colder after dark however, as the thermometer drops to 0C and rain eases off.
