In what can only be described as truly shocking, a Catholic school in Mullingar, County Westmeath is holding a “Hijab awareness day”, no, seriously they are!

The so-called ‘Global Justice Club’ in Loreto College, Mullingar is asking all students and staff to bring a scarf or shawl with them to school today, Thursday, to wear them as a hijab.

If they’re unfamiliar with wearing a hijab, it’s meant to be a Catholic school after all, then at break and lunchtime there’ll actually be Muslim students there to help students and staff put the makeshift hijab on.

Many people on social media are fearful that this could be a sign of things to come only that it wouldn’t be an option, it would be mandatory.
