Accusations of “free speech being dead in Ireland” as Gemma O’Doherty’s ACI meeting gets cancelled again

Investigative journalist Gemma O’Doherty was yet again forced to cancel her meeting in Cork for her new movement, Anti-Corruption Ireland.

Left wing activists eventually found out where the meeting was to take place in Spailpin Fanach pub, but they cancelled the meeting after they received what has been described as “threatening phone calls”.

Some social media users say that “free speech is dead in Ireland” as a result of the cancellation.

The first meeting of its kind happened a couple of weeks ago in Ashbourne, where a sizeable number of people listened to Gemma talk about the state of the nation and corruption that she claims goes on and has gone on in the past.

Last night’s venue for the Cork meeting was only revealed at 5pm in an effort to stop the left wing activists from threatening the venue.

Below is a description of what is said to have happened. What are your thoughts on this? Tell us in the Facebook post and share this with your friends.
