A number of wild fires have broken out after days of hot and wild conditions.
Homes were evacuated across Ravensdale on the Cooley peninsula in County Louth after a fire ripped through a forest.
The flames lit up the night’s sky and a number of residents were evacuated as a precaution. Fire crews tried to contain the fire and not let it get out of control.
Fire services say that a red fire danger warning remains in place. Investigations underway after firemen believe a campfire may have gotten out of control.
