As thousands more U.S troops deploy to Europe following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, President Joe Biden has been present with options for a massive cyberattacks designed to disrupt Russia’s ability to sustain its military operations in Ukraine.
NBC News reported that four people familiar with the deliberations, two U.S. intelligence officials, one Western intelligence official and another person briefed on the matter confirmed that the potential attacks were under consideration.
However, the sources tell NBC that no final decisions have been made, but they say U.S. intelligence and military cyber warriors are proposing the use of American cyberweapons on a scale never before contemplated.
Should this attack take place a Russian retaliation would be guaranteed which could see a tit for tat cyber war of attrition that would dramatically impact the global economy and day to day internet functioning for most of the developed world.
