An innocent man – Tributes pour in for Birmingham Six member Paddy Hill, who has passed aged 80

He and his mates were completely innocent.

Paddy Hill, wrongly convicted of IRA attacks on pubs in Birmingham in 1974, has sadly died at the age of 80.

Paddy was one of six men from Northern Ireland jailed for the bombs and became known simply as the Birmingham Six.

21 people were killed in bombs at two Birmingham city centre pubs in November 1974, with Paddy and the other men spending two decades in prison for the bombings before their convictions were quashed in 1991.

Tributes have poured in from both Ireland and the UK with many saying he was a brave and fearless campaigner for justice.
