It is understood that thousands of households will begin receiving letters from the Department of Social Protection from tomorrow on, to begin the process of applying for the water conservation grant.
Householders will need to apply for the grant by October 8. People will have to surrender their PPS numbers and bank details online, and in some cases by telephone.
The Department of Social Protection expects all payments will be made by the end of October.
