Armed police in the UK have been alerted to a incident in Tooting Broadway tube station in South West London this afternoon.
It is believed officers are still searching for a man who threatened fellow passengers on the train with a pair of scissors. The incident reportedly happened at approximately 4pm this afternoon when Heavily-armed officers swarmed responded to call alerting them to the situation in the underground station. The incident had caused major panic as passengers were then ordered off a train as the armed police began searching for a suspect matching the description given to them. However despite searching a number of hours, armed police officers could not find anyone matching the description and the incident was “stood down”.
Although the armed officers have now left the area, borough officers remain at the scene and are still looking for the suspect. The news of the distressing incident comes in the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks which killed 129 people on Friday night.
