The boss of the HSE has said that this wave is now the worst that has hit Ireland since the pandemic started.
Reid said:
“This is certainly the highest level of impact on risk that we had to manage since Covid landed here.”
He said that we’re now at the highest numbers of hospitalisation since the numbers we had in January through March. There’s now a real sense of no guarantees in relation to further restrictions, such as a lockdown.
