The Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland has agreed to undertake predicted grading for Leaving Certificate students following a breakthrough today.
It is understood the ASTI has advised its members to proceed with the Department of Education’s plans to offer predicted grades.
The decision comes after the Department of Education agreed that the State Solicitors Office would takeover should cases of indemnity apply.
It follows concerns that teachers would face high legal fees if they were subjected to legal proceedings over grades.
