During the party’s Ard Fheis yesterday, Gerry Adams made it clear that Sinn Fein does not want to be in opposition after the next election. Instead, he intends on leading the Government.
He also insisted that the party would introduce a wealth tax of 7% on all incomes over €100,000.
Mr. Adams used much of his speech to lambast the austerity policies spearheaded by Fine Gael, Labour, and Fianna Fail in recent years.
He said that ‘austerity is the problem, rather than the solution, and Sinn Féin is part of the solution, not the problem.’
