Australians are currently sweltering in extreme summer heat, as temperatures reached almost 50C in some parts.
A number of locations across the country’s south saw the thermometer rise to the high 40s, while the town of Tarcoola topped the list, with a recorded temperature of 49.1C.
The outlook is for extreme heat to continue, prompting fears of wildfires across the region.
