A baby boy is in a critical condition in hospital this evening, after a man threw him off a bridge and into the water below.
The incident happened at the River Irwell in Manchester earlier today.
Police arrested a man inside the nearby Lock Keeper pub shortly afterwards. He’s been held on suspicion of attempted murder.
