RTE has amassed losses of €18 MILLION over the past year




RTE is in major trouble. The national broadcaster is losing money hand over fist with a total of €100 million lost in the last decade.

Bosses in RTE allegedly sent out an email to staff warning them that the station is facing an unprecedented financial crisis and that the station is under threat.

Multiple other options such as UK televsion channels, social media and streaming services such as Netflix have severely hammered RTE and their monolopy over the market.

The director-general Dee Forbes has claimed that commercial revenues and government funding have been far too low for RTE to continue in the way its currently run.

It’s understood that RTE had losses of up to €18 million over the past year.
