The Bangladesh government have declared a so-called “war on ponography” that has already seen more than 20,000 porn and gambling websites banned from access as there anti-pornography campaign continues.
In recent weeks, the Bangladesh government has been urged to ban more ponography websites as the country aims to crackdown on gambling and pornography websites from being accessible from internet users in their country.
The orders came directly from the telecommunications regulator. Authorities claim that they want to create a safe and secure internet for all bangladeshis, including children.
The posts and telecommunications minister Mustafa Jabbar said that this is just the start and that there will be a continuous war on photography moving forward.
Social media website tictok and Bigo have also been barred from users accessing their services as allegedly authorities believe they were being completely misused and were inundated with pornography.
Jabbar continued by saying that they’re monitoring Facebook profiles, Youtube channels, and local websites to ensure that pornography is kept to a minimum, if not wiped out all together.
