Belgian court rules government must lift lockdown in 30 days as it has not legitimate legal basis for the draconian measures

A court in Brussels has ruled that Belgium must lift all “all coronavirus measures” within 30 days, as the legal basis for them is insufficient the Brussels Times has reported.

The win for human and individual rights comes just weeks after The League for Human Rights filed the lawsuit which challenged the Belgians government’s methods of implementing the Covid-19 lockdown which bypassed parliamentary approval.

Le Soir reported that the court has given the Belgian government 30 days to provide a sound legal basis for its lockdown or face a daily fine of €5,000.

The ruling has given hope to others in European and Western countries who are striving to restore their basic rights and undo the Draconian power grab their governments have instigated.
