Beyoncé’s upcoming Renaissance World Tour could net the singer more than $2 billion, according to financial publication Forbes, reports RTE.

The US business magazine said the estimate was based on “optimistic” assumptions about the number of fans buying tickets and a high average ticket price of $700.

It added that the estimates also assumed that artists would take home a “considerable share” of merchandise earnings and pay touring expenses equal to 20% of earnings.

The tour is set to kick off on May 10 in Stockholm and will be Beyoncé’s first world tour in seven years.

There are no Irish shows on the tour.

The singer will perform several concerts in the United Kingdom, including Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Murrayfield in Edinburgh and the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, reports RTE.

According to Forbes, the tour could gross up to $2.4 billion in tickets alone by the time it ends in September.

That would top the magazine’s most optimistic estimate for Taylor Swift’s ongoing The Eras Tour, which is $1.9 billion.

Forbes suggested that the more optimistic assumptions about tour earnings could be due to fans’ increased desire to attend in-person concerts in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, reports RTE.

In February, the scramble for Beyoncé tickets created online difficulties for sellers.

Named after Beyoncé’s latest album, the Renaissance World Tour will help college and university students in 10 cities with scholarship funds.

In February, Beyoncé became the most decorated Grammy artist of all time after receiving her 32nd trophy at the 65th annual ceremony, reports RTE.
