Paralysed woman survives after being buried alive for almost three days

A paralysed woman is currently recovering in hospital after she was found buried alive in China.

According to Chinese media the 79-year-old woman was found alive by officials after she was allegedly buried alive by her son.

It is reported that the woman who had no water or food for three days was found in a grave in Shaanxi province.

It is alleged that the woman was put in the grave by her son who is said to have confessed to arresting officers.

Police say suspicions were raised after the woman’s daughter in law became concerned for her welfare after her husband failed to return home with his mother following a day out.

The woman apparently told officers that her husband told her that he had sent his mother to stay with relatives.

However despite her husband’s explanation, the unnamed woman became suspicious and decided to contact police who proceeded to launch an investigation.

Upon questioning the man allegedly told police that he had buried his mother in a deserted tomb South of Jingbian County.

Following a widespread search of the area police found the woman after they heard a faint cry for help.

Police say the woman is currently in stable condition in hospital and the man has since been charged with attempted murder.
