Bomb scare in Aras an Uachtarain

Following a bob scare, President Higgins and his wife were evacuated from Aras an Uachtarain late Tuesday night.

A call was made to the Samaritans emergency helpline around 10pm on Tuesday night outlining that there was a bomb set to go off around 12.32am.

President Higgins and his wife were already in bed when the Gardai decided to act on the call. They were both safely removed after midnight.

Armed devices were sent from local stations during the bomb scare. There is a still ongoing investigation but gardai have are giving no comment on the incident.
