Boohoo has reportedly bought the Debenhams brand for a bargain £55m, but all Debenhams stores will remain shut.
It is understood that Boohoo intends to ‘relaunch’ Debenhams as an online-only retailer.
About 10,000 jobs are thought to be lost.
