Boris Johnson managed to beat Jeremy Hunt in the race to become Britain’s new Prime Minister.

The colourful character politician will later today be officially sworn in as Britain’s new Prime Minister and will lay out his plans for his first few days in Office.

Mr Johnson declared that it was an “extraordinary honour and privilege” to be elected the new Tory leader and pledged to “energise the country” following the announcement that he was indeed to become the new Prime Minister.

“The campaign is over and the work begins,” he added, according to Sky News.

He paid a nice tribute to outgoing prime minister Theresa May by thanking her for her “extraordinary service to this party and this country”.

He also praised Jeremy Hunt by describing his leadership opponent Mr Hunt as a “font of excellent ideas”.
