A brave mum in the UK has called for the meningitis vaccine be given to all infants after her little girl missed out on the life saving vaccine because she was deemed too old according to Government rules.

The loving mum named Sarah Freeman has called for a serious overhaul to the system after her little girl Sofia Freeman-Kinsey nearly died from the deadly disease because she was ten days too old to receive the vaccination.
According to UK rules all vaccinations were given to all children born from May 1st onwards, so Sofia missed out by ten days due to being born on April 21st.

The scandalous ruling resulted in little Sofia contracting the illness which almost claimed her life only for the quick thinking of her loving mum. An upset Sarah told reporters that her worst nightmares were real after she discovered a purple patch on Sofia’s chest and noticed she was whimpering.

The mum further explained that she instantly knew it was meningitis and phoned immediately for an ambulance which brought Sofia straight to Liverpool’s Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

Thankfully, little Sofia has since returned home after paramedics and doctors worked relentlessly to save her daughter who admitted her into intensive care and treated her with a week of antibiotics

The thankful mum now says her horrifying experience should not happen to any other child or parent and is actively calling on the British Government to provide vaccines for all children and not just for babies under 12-months.

Sarah also revealed Doctors confirmed that if little Sofia had received her vaccination she would most likely not have contracted the deadly illness.
