In one of the most harrowing yet bravest stories to be told on the Late Late Show over the past number of years, a lady named Ailbhe Griffith spoke of her horrific sexual assault ordeal and how her life was affected.
The sadistic animal who attacked Ailbhe followed her from her workplace when she was 21 years old. He got off the bus at her stop and attacked her within 4 minutes of her home.
The sicko grabbed the eloquently spoken lady by the throat and sexually assaulted her for up to 50 minutes.
Luckily two men were walking by and managed to apprehend the scumbag while Ailbhe phoned her parents to come to her aid.
She fast forwarded the story somewhat from there. She spoke of going to the gardai and how the man who attacked her was sentenced.
Startling to many, me included, Ailbhe wanted to meet her attacked – as much for him as for her, to prove that they’re both human beings to each other. A movie has been made about the event with Ailbhe playing herself.
Thankfully Ailbhe has managed to get on with her life and has turned into a very fine lady. We wish her well.
