Tomi Reichental, a survivor of The Holocaust, gave an emotional and incredibly brave interview about his ordeal in a concentration camp, tonight on The Late Late Show.
He went into graphic details about being transferred to the camp with his family, and living in disgusting conditions, terribly harsh punishment and frightening day-to-day life.
He spoke about final liberation where The Allies finally won and the German army had retreated.
On 15th April, 1945, he heard saw the British army arrive at his concentration camp and heard them say “We’re the British army and you’re liberated”.
He arrived in Ireland 1959, has lived here since and has a big family of his own now. He took some 55 years to be able to talk about what happened to him.
A truly inspirational story.
