In sad breaking news this evening, the singer songwriter Johnny Duhan, possibly best known for writing the Christy Moore song ‘The Voyage’, has died while swimming off the coast of Co Galway.
A large search starts again in the morning for a swim an, aged in her 30s, who remains missing, following what has been described as two separate incidents at Silverstrand beach.
The search began this morning when emergency services raced to the area, between Salthill and Bearna, at 10.30am.
Tributes have already started to get paid on social media for the songwriter.
