Up to 25 armed garda patrol units are patrolling central Dublin this afternoon after a man pointed a handgun at a garda.
The incident happened at 3:30 on Francis Street in the south inner city. The male garda is a member of the traffic corps and it’s believed he stopped a white van and when he pulled it in, a handgun was pointed directly at his face.
The van quickly fled the scene and a manhunt ensued. In the past twenty minutes, The Liberal has received information that a male suspect has been apprehended and arrested, and is now being brought to Pearse Street Garda Station in relation to the incident.
