BREAKING: Cllr Malachy Steenson’s motion to release Enoch Burke was refused to even debate the issue




Councillor Malachy Steenson’s motion to immediately release Enoch Burke from Christmas was refused to even debate the issue.

The Liberal understands that they refused to debate with a vote result of 46 to 6.

The Mayo teacher, who’ll never call a girl a boy, has been in prison for more than 430 days, all stemming from a row over transgenderism, which eventually led to Burke’s imprisonment for contempt of court by refusing to stay away from his former place of work.

Enoch Burke is now facing a second Christmas in Mountjoy.

On Monday night, at a Dublin City Council meeting, Councillor Malachy Steenson put a forward a motion that called for the Enoch Burke to be released from prison immediately and it will be put to a vote.

A two-thirds majority of the Members present at the time of voting (in the Chamber and online) were needed vote in favour for an item to be approved for discussion. However, it was a refused a debate after Cllr. Steenson brought forward a Motion calling for his release under topical issues.
