
In breaking news this morning, the number of coronavirus cases in ICU has risen to 103, it’s been confirmed.
The President of the Intensive Care Society of Ireland, Dr Catherine Motherway said that ICUs in Dublin are under immense pressure already and that they have 107 patients on ventilators and that there was 26 more patients with suspected coronavirus in ICU beds.
Speaking on RTE radio, the top medic said that currently the hospitals are coping but if there’s a surge than that’s where the serious concerns lie.
She said that there is nothing doctors can do to stop a surge, it’s down to the actions of the public.
