
GardaĆ investigating the disappearance of Michael Gaine have commenced a forensic and technical examination of an area near the farmyard in Kenmare, Co Kerry, where he was last seen eight weeks ago.
RTĆ News reports that the area, now designated a crime scene, was cordoned off yesterday evening. As darkness fell, two garda cars and several gardaĆ were stationed at the farmyard, adjacent to the sealed-off section.
The examination, which began at first light this morning, involves detailed forensic and technical work, RTĆ News understands. In a statement to RTĆ News, a garda spokesperson confirmed, āAn Garda SĆochĆ”na have this evening re-commenced operations at lands at Carraig East, Kenmare, Co Kerry.ā The spokesperson added, āAn Garda SĆochĆ”na is not in a position to provide further information at this stage,ā as reported by RTĆ News.
The area under scrutiny is believed to be a field on Mr. Gaineās property, near the farmyard at Carraig East, roughly 6km from Kenmare, according to RTĆ News. The farm lies along the Ring of Kerry road, between Kenmare and Mollās Gap.
Mr. Gaine has been missing since March 20, 2025, and was reported missing the following day, March 21. Initially treated as a missing personās case for six weeks, the investigation was reclassified as a homicide on April 29.
