Authorities in Spain have sadly confirmed this afternoon that a 3-year-old Irish boy has died in hospital following a swimming pool incident on Monday.
According to reports in Spain, the Spanish Civil Guard have confirmed that the young boy who was taken to hospital in critical condition on Monday, sadly passed away on Tuesday.
It is believed that the boy was found unconscious at the Cabo Roig urbanisation pool in Orihuela, Alicante.
However despite the best efforts of medical personnel, the toddler sadly passed away at Hospital de Alicante.
Meanwhile the Department of Foreign Affairs have confirmed that they have been made aware of the boy’s tragic passing and they have since revealed that they are providing consular assistance to his family.
