30-yr-old Simone Mastrelli,Ā from Rome was extradited to the UK after being arrested on a European Arrest Warrant in Italy inĀ relation to a cowardlyĀ assault on Sean Cox outside Anfield on 24 April 2018.
It’s understood that Mr Cox was struck with possibly a belt which inflicted grievous bodily harm on 53-yr-old Meath man Sean Cox leaving him severely injured.
Sean suffered horrendous head damage after he took a ferocious beating outside Anfield in April.
Two other Italian fans have been also been jailed but Mastrelli was the only person sentenced today.
It’s sadly understood that Sean Cox remains in a severely dire situation at his home in Dunboyne, Co. Meath.
