Uproar as Leo Varadkar says he’ll allow Irish citizens who fought for ISIS return to Ireland

There’s been absolute uproar on social media as Varadkar appears to have put his foot in it in the public’s eyes yet again.

Leo Varadkar has said that he would allow Irish citizens fighting for ISIS to return home as he claimed that it would be wrong to leave someone stateless.

According to The Irish Mirror, the Taoiseach, who was speaking EU/Arab League Summit, said that a country must take responsibility in such circumstances and it would be wrong to offload problems to another state.

Although Varadkar stated that all cases would have to be evaluated given their circumstances, he said that he would loathe leaving someone stateless.

It is believed that Varadkar made his comments when he was asked about his views on the ongoing situation surrounding Shamima Begum in the UK.
