BREAKING: Met Eireann issue snow and ice warning for motorists overnight and tomorrow morning as temperatures set to plummet




Met Eireann have issued weather warning for snow and ice has been issued for 18 counties, with temperatures having fallen to below freezing overnight.

Met Éireann said winter falls with some accumulations are possible for all five Connacht counties, as well as Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath and Meath.

Heavy frost and ice fell last night, even on protected areas with rain turning to sleet and snow, particularly in Connacht.

Flurries of rain, sleet and snow will spread today and it will be cold with altitudes of only 4C. People are advised to share this with their friends who’ll be on the roads tonight and tomorrow morning especially.
