Many people on social media are querying why the Israeli embassy in Spain is remaining open yet Ireland’s gets shut.
The Israeli regime is closing its embassy in Dublin due to what they claim is “the extreme anti-Israel policies of the Irish government,” Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has claimed in a statement.
“It should be noted that in the past, Israel’s ambassador to Dublin was recalled following Ireland’s unilateral decision to recognise a ‘Palestinian state’,” the statement reads.
“Last week, Ireland announced its support for South Africa’s legal action against Israel in the International Court of Justice (ICJ), accusing Israel of ‘genocide’,” RTE reports.
Many people on social media have been voicing their delight at the thoughts of the Israeli embassy closing in Dublin.
On social media and user said:
“It’s the equivalent of a tray of maggot-ridden meat being taken out of a restaurant’s kitchen”
Another said:
”You weren’t welcome here anyway, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.”
