According to the Irish Mirror, one of the suspects in the death of Kyran Durnin, a missing boy, has a violent past and struggles with controlling his rage.

It is known that the Gardai have been given a plenty of information on the nature and habits of this suspect.

The culprit did not receive a jail term despite appearing in court more than 10 years ago for violent crimes, reports The Mirror.

After being released on Friday afternoon, a man in his thirties who had been detained on Thursday in connection with Kyran’s murder declined to comment on the issue.

This man’s friends say he had nothing to do with it and is completely innocent. The man rushed through the streets of Drogheda with a coat over his head to conceal his face as the Irish Mirror approached him, reports The Mirror.

He is acquainted with a woman who was also detained this week and freed without being charged. In an attempt to find the child’s body, Gardai are now considering conducting a third search in a different Drogheda area.

Further arrests are also not being ruled out. Investigators fear there has been a complex cover-up and that several individuals know what happened to the youngster.

Senior officers are happy. Kyran passed away in the weeks and months following his final sighting in May 2022, reports The Mirror.

Although they still don’t know how he passed away, they are compiling a vast amount of data from the public.

A Garda source said: “We will continue with our investigation to try and find this child’s body. There is absolutely no doubt Kyran is dead and that something dreadful happened to him. We believe we have identified all the suspects and we are building up the evidence against them. We would again urge the public that anyone with even the slightest bit of information about this case to contact Drogheda Garda Station. This little lad deserves better, his death should never have happened,” reports The Mirror.

The disturbing example of Kyran going missing has brought attention to the State’s treatment of children who are at risk.

Only in August of this year did the gardai proclaim the eight-year-old missing and issue a request for assistance in locating him.

Officers, however, were horribly concerned that the tiny child was dead and had been murdered up to two years earlier, reports The Mirror.

The gardai issued another request for information on Kyran on October 16, this time stating that he was thought dead and missing.

A garda statement at the time said: “Despite extensive enquiries carried out by gardai to date, An Garda Siochana have been unable to either locate Kyran, identify any information on his current whereabouts or any evidence that he is currently alive,” reports The Mirror.
