Scotland’s chief medical officer, Dr Catherine Calderwood has been forced to resign after breaching the UK lockdown by visiting her second home, it’s been revealed.
Dr Calderwood had been photographed by The Scottish Sun newspaper while she was visiting her holiday home on the east coast of Scotland over the weekend – and she has admitted it was the second time she had done so during the lockdown, something that is highly forbidden under the lockdown measures.
She is the Scottish equivalent of Dr Tony Holohan.
Her announcement came minutes after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was admitted to hospital with coronavirus.
