A 33-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of teacher Ashling Murphy, 23, in Tullamore, Co Offaly, last year.
The murder charge was brought against Jozef Puska, of Lynally Grove, Mucklagh, Co Offaly, before a jury was sworn in to convict him at the Central Criminal Court this afternoon.
He stood up and said “not guilty.”
A jury will now be sworn in to hear the case. Prosecutors are expected to begin presenting their case tomorrow morning.
Judge Tony Hunt told potential jurors the trial was expected to last up to five weeks.
