British airport authorities set to invest millions on anti-drone equipment

Authorities at Heathrow and Gatwick airports have announced plans to invest millions in anti-drone equipment, to prevent drones from causing chaos at British airports again.

Last month, Gatwick Aiport was brought to a standstill after drones were reportedly seen flying around the runway. These facts were later disputed, but thousands of passengers had their travel plans disrupted due to flight cancellations and delays.

The anti-drone equipment is manufactured by an Israeli firm, and it includes a jamming device and a laser beam to disrupt and destroy the drone.
