The Budget will introduce a €5 increase per child in their child benefit, it has been revealed. This will bring the total amount to €135.
Child Benefit is an universal monthly payment given to all parents, irrespective of their income.
Elsewhere, the Minister for Finance has confirmed that the price of a packet of cigarettes will be hiked by 40c. This is double the amount announced earlier in the week.
