The former Tánaiste and Labour Party leader Joan Burton has slammed the Fine Gael party for contemplating holding fundraisers to further their cause.
Ms Burton’s comments come after the Fine Gael party apparently discussed the possibility of holding a number of fundraisers were a number of high profile people would be in attendance.
However both the Taoiseach and the party have denied such a suggestion and claim they are fully focused on a number of government policies rather than the prospect of a snap election.
Although Ms Burton told the Dáil today that she is concerned that the opposition party will devise a scheme that would see a “cash for access” to politicians.
