“Businesses need to reopen” – Irish chef Paul Treyvaud says the government has lost the trust of the people

Interviewed on Tuesday night’s Primetime,  Irish chef Paul Treyvaud says that Irish businesses need to reopen. He said that if his industry doesn’t reopen in July, 80% of businesses will gone by October or November. Treyvaud said that the government has lost the trust of the people because so many variants are able to get into the country, regardless of what people are doing in Ireland itself.

Earlier on Tuesday, RTE’s Radio One was due to have an interview with Irish chef Paul Treyvard over why he said he was going to reopen his restuarant on July 1st regardless of any consequences.

However, at the very last minute, someone in RTE made the decision to completely pull the interview claiming that they’d mysteriously been double booked. Many on social media are claiming that the national taxpayer-funded broadcaster just didn’t want to put the message out there that people were fighting back and willing to reopen their business.

Celebrity chef Paul Treyvard, owner of Treyvaud’s Kitchen in Killarney, Co Kerry has declared that he has “lost all hope” in the Irish Government and is now taking direct action to save his business, reports Extra.ie.

Mr Treyvard wrote in a tweet that he was offering the Government four months “to sort out everything” and that he plans to re-open his restaurant on July 1 “no matter what”.

He goes on to write that 55,000 people came into Ireland form the UK and now over 1500 people have arrived from Brazil. “The problem is no longer us. It’s an incompetent Gov” he wrote.
