The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has urged the public to stay focused as the end is truly in sight.
During his address to the nation, the Taoiseach said he knows that times are difficult and is well aware of the difficulties people face.
However he called on the public to maintain the distance and stick with current restrictions for the next few months.
The Taoiseach also said with the vaccine programme expected to pick up over the coming weeks ahead we will get through through this safely together.
He added that he knows of the devastation that virus has brought to businesses and livelihoods but reiterated that he knows the end is truly in sight.
The Taoiseach’s comments come as the country face six more weeks of Level 5 restrictions with a review of the situation expected on April 5th.
