Call for general election and referendum on immigration after government and Sinn Fein suffer historic defeat in double referenda

After the government suffered the most humiliating defeat in the double referenda on care and family on March 8th, there are growing calls for both a general election and referendums on much more pressing issues in the public consciousness, namely, immigration.

The largest No vote in any referendum in the state’s history has sent shock waves through the political establishment with the rebuke felt in every political party in the Dail, all of which called for a positive answer in the plebiscite on the family and all government parties and the main opposition party, Sinn Fein, also called for a yes to the care vote.

Meanwhile, Minister for Children, Roderic O’Gorman, who helped spearhead the efforts to pass these defeated referendums has said he has no intention of taking responsibility for their defeat despite his Department’s refusal to release minutes related to the the decision to hold these votes playing a role in swaying public opinion against them.

O’Gorman, who is mired in scandals, including missing children from state care, his open call for asylum seekers to come to Ireland in multiple languages, including Georgian and Albanian, two safe countries and most recently, Tusla severing connections with companies providing accommodation for vulnerable children after they faked background checks for employees.

As the calls for a general election now grow louder, there is speculation that new patriotic parties will benefit from the public’s now all too obvious revulsion with the globalist, woke political establishment who have now very clearly overplayed their hand.
