Canadian sniper kills ISIS operative with a single shot from over two miles out in Iraq

A Canadian special forces sniper managed to take down an ISIS operative with a single shot, over two miles away from the target.

The sniper took the kill shot from a vantage point, using a bolt action McMillan TAC-50 weapon. The bullet would have exited the barrel at a speed of 2,641 ft/s, taking just under 10 seconds to fly the 3,540mts (2.19m) towards the target.

Such long flying time would require the sniper to take into account not only distance, but also wind speed, temperature, and the rotation of the Earth.

The shot hit its mark, and the operative went down for good. The feat was independently verified by an observer team, turning the event into the longest confirmed sniper kill in history.
